biography
The Lagoons are the musical project of Los Angeles-raised multi-instrumentalist brothers Ryan and Joey Selan. Their California roots shine via their unique blend of indie rock, jazz, and electronic music which first received international attention with the release of their debut single “California”. The Selan brothers have since released two albums and three EPs receiving rave reviews from tastemakers and fans. Their third album “Island Hopping” is set to be released early 2024.
The duo is rapidly becoming known for their vibrant live shows driven by their ability to switch between instruments performing a completely fresh and unique set each night making their live show a must-see. Their music has been featured in Netflix's series "Easy," a BMW/Golf Digest ad starring Kate Upton and Justin Verlander, a Seiko Australia ad, and featured on product placement in Bose stores worldwide. In addition to being added to 100k+ Spotify playlists including editorials such as New Music Friday, Ultimate Indie, Essential Indie, Hanging Out and Relaxing, Indie Rock Road Trip, The Ones That Got Away, Late Night Vibes, and more, The Lagoons have been featured in press outlets such as NPR, The New York Times, Paste Magazine, Earmilk, Ones To Watch, and Indie Shuffle.
